Time to Speak Up

Preview

Brother Kem’s Say will probably always be on my top 21 favorite songs of all time list. It’s giving a smooth and clear meditation melody this dayclean, reminding me that sometimes I need to say what’s on my mind.

That tired, trite troupe of the ‘Angry Black Woman’ does make me weary of speaking up, but I’m remembering that I don’t come to embody anger as a defining characteristic just because I choose to speak up when I feel angry. And it is likely that no one else will speak up for me, so the conditions that make me feel angry will remain unchanged. Give thanks for the ability to speak up with grace and without apology on this life jjourney! #SpeakUpSiS
