Queen’s Advocate

The past few days of balmy sunshiny weather almost made me forget we are in the middle of winter. Almost. And the past few years of support for real equity in our society almost made me forget it is still winter in America. Almost.

But I’m being called to action this cold dayclean by the undeniable Chaka Khan featuring Mary J Blige in Disrespectful. While I’m hopeful that there are still some real allies with real courage who are advocating around tables where I don’t sit, I’m not taking a wait and see approach. I am boldly serving as advocate for my body of work and that of so many servant leaders who have long been in the community doing underfunded, unrecognized, but highly effective and fundamentally transformative work. I will not quietly accept the disrespectfulness. #QueensAdvocate
