Living Sacrifice

It’s a bright beautiful Soft Soul SiStar Sunday, and I’m meditating on the idea of sacrifice. Asking myself what sacrifice looks like at this phase in my life, and how will I know if or when a certain sacrificial action is necessary? It’s giving Wyclef Jean with MJB in 911.

I feel like so many Black American women, for various and understandable reasons, have taken on a “working ourselves to death for a good cause” approach. But QueenSiS, we would be wise to ask some questions that can help us redefine sacrifice. What is the kind of sacrifice the Creator Divine has called us to give? I think we are called on now (and perhaps we always were and simply misinterpreted the messages), not to sacrifice our life, but to make choices that will allow us to live well and long enough to advance what will lead to true justice. #LivingSacrifice
