It would be beautiful to reclaim African-centered practices of taking problems between spouses and intimate partners to a trusted elder for impartial advice and decisions. This may be challenging given the many instances of gossiping and broken trust in our communities, but it is something to strive for. I pray to grow into a trusted Elder, willing and able to keep confidence and give sound advice to those who seek it in the future. #grownfolksbusiness
