Setting the Table

Meditating on tables and settings this dayclean. Sometimes we will have a seat at the table, sometimes the table will be set beautifully for us…and sometimes we will have to build and set our own tables. I had the enormous pleasure of visiting Queen SiStar Clarenda “Farmer Cee” Stanley at her joy factory Green Heffa Farms and she sat down with me for this episode of the DDQ Podcast.  Her work is an amazing example building and setting a beautiful table!

I’ve learned from so many of the women (and men!) in my life and ancestry that when we have to create our own space, we would be wise to take the time to build it with a solid foundation, to make sure we plan with purpose, and keep our ultimate desired outcome in mind. Because of that legacy, I know I can build the tables, and gardens, and homes (ţguratively and literally speaking) of my dreams, and for the generations coming after me to build to new levels. I pray we all get to thoroughly enjoy the fruits of our labor. #TableSetting
