Fruit of the Spirit
I’m meditating on trees and fruit this dayclean. Growing up, I used to be a bit envious of people who had a lot of friends; now I’m so grateful for the tightness of my circle. I think people are a lot like trees - most easily identified by the kind of fruit it produces at harvest time (and sometimes by the shade…).
I’ve been well served by taking good care the company I keep, and having a mindful eye on the spirits/energies of those I allow closest to me. I’ve learned the hard way that the enemy of my forward progress often attempts to use people around me to delay my purpose and destroy my fruit before harvest. So I’ve taken my cue from soul philosopher Erykah Badu’s Apple Tree - picking my friends like I pick my fruit. Fruitful
