This Will Take Time

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from parenting and farming (aren’t they the same thing??) is to have patience. The dynamic Dianne Reeves sings in Better Days: “Child we are all moons in the dark of night, ain’t no morning gonna come ‘til the time is right. Can’t get to better days lest you make it through the night.” And I know this in my bone marrow.

But the meantime, the interim between goals planned and mission accomplished, between prayers prayed and blessings received can often be more than a period in-between wanting and having. The meantime can be a ‘mean’ time ʳ causing me to have a short temper, uncharitable disposition, and negative outlook on my surroundings if I am not mindful. But oh, give thanks for mindfulness, and new moons in the night sky. #meantime
